Prisoners Support Fund
The Prisoners Support Fund is a humanitarian initiative of the British Pakistani Lawyers Forum aimed at assisting deserving prisoners in Pakistani jails. Our primary focus is on individuals who remain incarcerated solely due to their inability to pay minor fines (Diyat, Arsh, Daman) or court-imposed financial penalties.
By securing their release, we help these individuals reunite with their families and rebuild their lives, while also easing the overcrowding in Pakistan's prison system. BPLF coordinates directly with prison superintendents and legal authorities to verify eligible cases and ensure that funds are paid directly to the appropriate judicial accounts.
How the Verification Process Works
- Case Identification: We receive verified lists of underprivileged prisoners from prison superintendents and legal aid coordinators.
- Legal & Financial Audit: BPLF legal experts review court files to ensure the inmate is incarcerated purely due to unpaid fines and has completed their primary sentence.
- Direct Payment: Payments are processed directly to the official judicial or prison treasury accounts, not to individuals.
- Release & Monitoring: Once court receipts are obtained, the prisoner is officially released and supported in post-release rehabilitation.
